This project involved creating a brand-new website from the ground up, using provided Canva designs as the foundation for layout, structure and visual direction. The goal was to deliver a modern, scalable WordPress site supported by custom development, dynamic content capabilities, and fully managed cloud hosting.
Challenge
With no existing website in place, the build required developing everything from scratch, including a custom plugin to retrieve and sync content such as Projects and Resources via an external API. The site also needed advanced filtering for projects, news and resources, plus a stable hosting environment with strong security, performance and ongoing monitoring. The final product needed to feel clean, fast and easy for users to navigate, while remaining simple for the client to update.
Approach
Hosting, Maintenance & Management
We deployed the site on fully managed, dedicated cloud hosting configured for speed, security and reliability. This included proactive performance optimisation, professional-grade security, uptime monitoring, backups and monthly reporting. Google Analytics was integrated to give the client clear insight into engagement and traffic over time.
Prototyping UX/UI
Using the client’s Canva designs, we transformed the static layouts into practical UX flows and interactive page structures. This allowed us to refine spacing, hierarchy and responsiveness before development, ensuring the final site reflected the intended visual style while supporting a smooth, intuitive user experience.
Website Development
A major part of the build involved developing a custom WordPress plugin that retrieves content via an API, syncs project and resource entries, creates new posts automatically when needed, and populates custom fields, taxonomies and featured images. We also implemented advanced filtering across project, news and resource sections to improve discoverability and user navigation.
WordPress
The site was built with Elementor Pro for flexible page layouts and easy visual formatting. Reusable components and templates were created to ensure consistency and to make content updates simple for the client. The combination of custom plugin work, dynamic content handling and Elementor layouts offered both strong functionality and long term usability.

The finished website for Ramp Up Resilience delivers a highly functional, API-powered digital presence with fast, stable hosting and a user-friendly editing experience.
